Solution-IV Server Recommended Hardware Configuration
Manufacturers update systems very often. Use the specifications and
considerations below to find a compatible system from your hardware provider.
We have had success with Dell PowerEdge and Compaq ProLiant systems.
- Dual Core Intel Pentium Processor
- 512 - 1GB memory
- Minimum of 20GB, or optionally RAID 1 Controller (mirroring should sufficient for redundancy – Thoroughbred can assist if more fault tolerance is required) RAID 1 20 – 30 GB drives (SCSI preferred) for redundant recovery
- CD-ROM
- NIC (network card)
- Backup device (tape, or you can use one already installed on your network)
Recommended Operating Systems are Windows 2003, most current UNIX, and
RedHat Linux ES
